"Unrequired" ain't a typo, just a pun.
So here is the second installment of the FMP 4Koma collection. Still haven't gotten around to the commentary, but I got tired of sitting on this, so here it is.
Everything reads from right-to-left, though I switched whether Gauron called Sousuke "Kashim" before or after his line to better fit his other, longer-in-English-lines.
1) The title "Gauron's Theater of Love" is also a pun - the word for theater (gekijyou) also means "extreme passion." Sorry, couldn't work that one in!
2) Gauron "wuvs/<hearts>" Sousuke isn't really what's written in the first panels - it says "daisuki." I used "wuv/<hearts>" to TRY to address the different levels of the verbs for "love," particularly since it was pretty damn funny in this case.
Incidentally, the Japanese phrase for "I wuv you" is "ai jide ru" instead of "ai shite iru" - funny how infantilizing sounds feels like kind of the same process as in English.
3) Chidori says "kore" or "this one" instead of "kare" or "he" in the final panel, so I kept up the "this one's mine" rather than "he's mine."
4) I'll get around to the commentary and the final (as far as I can tell unrelated) box in the final panel. It says something like "Owaru Day By Day (is coming out soon?)" ... I'm having some trouble reading the last word.
